218 Aston Martin DB4 Saloon

Finally Britain gets to show off a bit too! Some strange colours, though for the Aston Martin DB4. An egg-yolk yellow and odd shade of red that I have never seen on the real car. Each contrast with the bright yellow or red interiors. Obviously red and yellow were the colours of the day then.

Three different types of wheel for 218: the normal fixed plain type, the free spinning type and a cast type which looks more interesting. I think some stickers must have been supplied with the plain fixed wheels as many seem to have a design affixed which looks like a fourth variation.

This is the mould that will get used as a DB5 for the famous gold car. A lovely Competition model, No 309 comes later, though, in a much more attractive pale blue and white.
