Now the line really does take off with this magnificent model. It was expensive at the time but so desirable and looked lovely in both the traditional and serious black and grey two-tone finish and the lighter green and cream. Lovely chrome radiator with an emblem, gorgeous jewelled headlights and little red jewels at the rear too. The boot looked luxurious and had a spare wheel. You couldn’t actually do anything with the spare (jacks were years off yet) but there it was anyway. This car had proper steering and that was something special then. The black and grey had a touch of real class and remains to this day one of the icons of the brand, good models in boxes fetching several hundred pounds.
